Conceived as an immersive experience halfway between a guided tour and a journey, the exhibition is an opportunity to discover part of the exceptional wealth of the museum’s collections, and to travel through nearly a millennium of technical and stylistic developments.

As on a visit to the museum, visitors can wander freely through the exhibition and stop at the works of their choice, or, if they prefer, follow an in French or English.

A note on the pronunciation of Chinese words

In the French audio tour, Chinese proper and common nouns are not pronounced as they usually are in Chinese, but as a French speaker naturally reads the pinyin transliteration. In that transliteration standard, some graphemes correspond to sounds that differ from those French traditionally associates with the letters in question.
