Balenciaga's Birthplace

3D scanning & CGI video production, 2023

At 10-12 avenue George V, Cristóbal Balenciaga created and unveiled all of his Paris collections, living and working within these walls until the Haute Couture House closed in 1968. As part of the restoration of these historic spaces, faithful to the couturier's spirit of austerity and elegance, Socle carried out the full scanning of the couture salon and the building's façade through lidar and photogrammetry, alongside the 3D capture of the 15 original furniture pieces. These assets formed the basis of a photorealistic CGI video produced in Unreal Engine 5 with path tracing, offering an immersive tour of this landmark of haute couture history.
