In the summer of 2023, the Hôtel départemental des expositions du Var, in Draguignan, presented "Treasures of the Kingdom of Lotharingia, Charlemagne's Legacy", an exhibition devoted to the kingdom born from the partition of the Carolingian Empire in 843 and to the richness of the art of that period.
For the exhibition's teaser, directed by Noise Gate Circus, Socle scanned a Lotharingian-era Gospel book by photogrammetry, then produced the full set of shots in CGI: animation, lighting and render. The scan allows the manuscript to be staged from angles no display case would allow.
Commissioned by: Noise Gate Circus. Client: Hôtel départemental des expositions du Var. Exhibition curator: Isabelle Bardiès-Fronty. Direction and editing: Noise Gate Circus. Photogrammetric scanning and 3D shots (animation, lighting, render): Socle.
